Expressing Thanks on Thanksgiving In my family, we usually go around the Thanksgiving table at some point and each say something we’re grateful for. I like this ritual. Through extensive experimentation and research, these psychologists have revealed many surprising truths about human nature and the thought process behind our actions. Although these experiments have given us a great deal of insight into the human mind, many of them have been surrounded by a lot of controversy. An American man named Stanley Milgram conducted one of such experiments. Stanley Milgram was born in New York City on August 15th, 1933 to a family of Jewish immigrants. He attended James Monroe High School, with another famous future psychologist, Philip Zimbardo. I had an MRI and some basic x-rays done. While in the care of these highly trained and friendly technicians, I came to realize this is what I wanted to do. I believe that our soul purpose in life is to help others. Since my car accident, I realized how I could accomplish my main goal in life. I can help people by being a radiographer. It may sound a little cliched my story, but it is the truth. Since I have been attending college I thought about being a nurse then a dental hygienist, but I never had that feeling that most people get when something is right. The feeling when you find that special or right thing. Like buying a house, car, or even finding that special someone. The sensation is a warm enthusiasm feeling that consumes the heart. It is a feeling that takes all control of all emotions. When I realized and was introduce into the field, I knew it was love at first sight. I wanted to know more about radiology. Before I joined the military, I did some observation in the E. R. in a hospital on Long Island, New York. I observed and spoke to a few radiology technicians and the more I discovered about the field the more I knew it was for me. I enjoy being active and being on my feet. In addition, it is very physical and I enjoy having a job that can keep me in shape and is not lways putting me behind the desk. Out of all dancing, theatrical is probably the most entertaining. Theatrical dancing includes ballet, jazz, tap, and musical comedy. Theatrical dancers may take great personal satisfaction in creating something beautiful. However, their enjoyment is not as important as their ability to interpret the dance to the audience. All types of dancing require practice and technique, but probably none require as much as ballet. Ballet dancers seem to ignore the law of gravity as they float through the air in long, slow leaps. They keep perfect balance while they spin, and at times, their feet move so rapidly that the eye can hardly follow the movements. Women often dance on their toes while men lift them up like they were as light as feathers. Ballet dancers take joy in controlling their bodies, but they can only perform difficult steps after many years of training. Ballet classes are held for both professional and beginning dancers. Because professional dancers must keep in shape, they usually take at least one class daily. Beginning students may take anywhere from three to ten classes a week to improve their technique. Ballet classes begin at the barre where dancers develop better technique. Later they move to the center where they do exercises to strengthen and improve their dancing. Next, the women sometimes work on pointe , and the men will work on big, energetic jumps. When developing a ballet, many people must work together to make it the best show it can be. There is a choreographer one who composes dances, an orchestra and a composer though some ballet companies use recorded music, people to make scenery, costume designers, and most importantly, the dancers. Essay #1: Cheating The definition of cheating is to a ct dishonestly or unfairly in order to gain an advantage, especially in a game or examination. I believe that cheating in a college class would be situations like: copying another students work, copying information from the internet without using proper citation (pl agiarism), using the internet and/or notes on an assignment when you aren't allowed to, and sharing your assignments with other students. I am sure there are plenty more situations that would be classified as cheating in a college class, but these are just the few main and obvious examples of cheating, in my opinion. There can be many different consequences from cheating, despite if you get caught or not. One of the first things that comes to my mind when thinking about the consequences of cheating is the negative personal affects it can have on an individual. Even if you are not caught in the act of cheating, you still face consequences. The main personal consequence an individual faces after cheating is that they did not gain any knew knowledge or learn what they were meant to by completing the task honestly. Now, not only has the individual broke the rules and risked getting disciplined, t hey have also given up their oppo rtunity to learn somet hing through honestly completely the task on their own. Another major consequence of cheating is in college, it can cause you to be completely dropped from the class you're caught cheating in. Cheating can ruin a teach/professors trust in you, it will make them question a lot from you because it proves you to be dishonest. Cheati ng is not worth its consequences. It is not worth risking being kicked out of a class, making your self have a reputation of being dishonest, and preventing yourself from learning what you need to by completing an assignment on your own in an honest manor. An experience I have had with cheating would be the time that I, myself, attempting cheating on a test I had not studied for in middle school. I had procrastinated studying for this test for a good bit of time, and eventually it was test day. I tried to memorize the study guide in the few minutes I had but it wasn't possible. So , in the spare of the moment, I decided to take pictures of the study guide on my phone and place it in my lap to look at during my test. As I finished my test, I thought I had gotten away with it, but as the teacher was collecting papers, he asked for my phone. He had seen me cheating and allowed me to finish my test before taking my phone. I was given a score of zero for the test, given in school suspension, and my (very unhappy) parents had to pick my phone up from the school. Cheating may seem like "the easy way out", but it is not worth the consequences that come along with it. You will be thought of more highly and will be a more honest and dependable person if you complete all tasks honestly and abiding by the rules. Cheating is lazy, dishonest, and makes an individual seem untrustworthy. You will always achieve more in the long run by doing things correctly, honestly, and with a good conscious. Everyone has cheated in some way at least once in their life, whether it be on a test, quiz, assignment, game, or anything else. VIII Health and Safety London 2012 is committed to promote healthy living among the workforce by provision of healthy food in the site canteens, auditing caterers on the park by Environmental Health Offices (EHOs), not allowing alcohol on the sites and delivering health and safety educational programme for children residing near the site. The area hosting Olympics will be developed by physical, social and economic regeneration and by enhancing ecology of the venues to conserve nature.
